Fix for “this PST is too large, delete messages” error
Personal storage table (PST) file created by Microsoft outlook store emails, contacts, notes, calendar, appointment, journals etc. With addition of new data and files to PST it size keeps increasing. But for every outlook user it is very important to keep note of size of PST file and accordingly take steps such that it does not grow above 2 GB size limit. It is because when file size increases more than that PST becomes inaccessible. In such situation user encounters error messages that does not allow access to PST file data components. It becomes almost necessary for user to split PST files of larger size into number of smaller parts to continue using outlook .pst.
For instance while user tries to access a large outlook PST file, error “this .PST is too large, delete messages” is shown and process is paused there itself not allowing us to process emails and other personal storage table data. Also, the error keeps showing every time an attempt is made to open it.
This problem is caused due to exceed in PST file size above 2 GB which Outlook 2000 does not support or when outlook PST file is too large. Similar problem can take place when ost file becomes too large.
To get rid of the error and efficiently use PST data file, you need to divide PST using advanced PST splitter tool. Manually breaking or dividing with PST/OST crop tool is usually not implemented as this may truncate or overwrite data.
Whereas using these applications completely eliminates the chances for the data to be lost or overwritten as its working is based on read only algorithm ensuring data reliability after being split. In addition to this, resultant PST files are independently usable. Email id and date are the two options provided to break the file. After the above process is done “delete messages error is resolved and now you can restart outlook to manage emails, other data and information.
